Now We're the Copycats!

Reading through the product roadmap for Facebook's Messenger app it's striking how much of their strategy is following the roadmap already delivered by Chinese and Korean messaging apps. This is an interesting piece from Clive Thompson in Wired showing the transition that Chinese tech business are making, from copycats to global innovators.

The Case for Connection Creativity and Production

An interesting piece from James Britton (who I had the pleasure of working with a few years ago when I was managing a couple of projects through Stink Digital in London). James argues (correctly IMHO) for a much more cohesive and collaborative relationship between the creative and production department.

The Future of UI?

Ultrahaptics is one of the most interesting startups coming out of the UK. Their technology roadmap should in the near future allow users to control computing devices without needing to wear or touch any physical objects.

The technology uses ultrasound to project sensations through the air and directly onto the user. Users can ‘feel’ touch-less buttons get feedback for mid-air gestures or interact with virtual objects."
